Our tutors, instructors and advisors have a knack for relating to young people--not only helping them learn information, but also helping them become confident and enjoy learning. CCH educators are passionate about teaching, helping and inspring students.

Melissa Fujimoto PSAT/SAT/SSAT Instructor, Private Tutor
Melissa is a PhD candidate in Human Development and Education at the University of California, Berkeley. While completing her dissertation here in Hawaii, Melissa teaches SAT, PSAT and SSAT classes and tutors privately for CCH. She also contributes to the development of our SAT and SSAT curricula. Outside of CCH, Melissa works on school readiness projects and on evaluations of educational programs.
Melissa was born and raised in Honolulu and attended ‘Iolani School. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University.
Bob Alexander PSAT/SAT Instructor, Private Tutor
Bob is one of CCH's master educators. He is currently working on his PhD in Natural Resource and Environmental Management as well as a Masters in Public Health. He is a writer, consultant, and scholar who has worked and taught in locations around the world. He has a Masters in Economics from the University of Hawaii and a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors from Boston University.
Dr. Brian Uldall SAT/COMPASS Instructor
Dr. Brian Uldall received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and his PhD in Social Psychology from The Ohio State University. Dr. Uldall has experience teaching SAT preparation curricula (both Math and Verbal sections) to High School students in Hawaii, tutoring in 1:1 and small group formats on a variety of different topics in both High School and College contexts, and has taught Statistics, Research Methods and Social Psychology writing-intensive courses at Ohio State and the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Dr. Uldall also pursues academic research interests that revolve around problems in substance abuse and group perception.
Coleen Kasperek SAT Instructor
Coleen is a math instructor at Kauai Community College and has high school teaching experience as well as practical knowledge from a variety of industries. She has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and earned her Masters degrees in Math Education and Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University.
Marty-Jean Bender SAT Instructor
Marty-Jean is a certified secondary education teacher, and has taught 7th grade through college science and math in Hawaii for 20 years. She has a BA in biology/pre-med from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Currently she is finishing her Master's of Education degree in Educational Technology from UH Manoa. She works for the University of Hawaii Center videoconferencing classroom in Kihei, Maui as well as teaching SAT classes for College Connection.
CCH employs about 100 part-time instructors across the state of Hawaii. Most of the work takes place at schools or other community locations. If you or anyone you know is interested in being a CCH educator, consider joining the CCH team.
