11th Grade Fall

  • Take the PSAT. Participants get on college mailing lists and enter the National Merit Scholarship competition.
  • Check in with your college counselor to be sure you are taking the right classes for the colleges you may apply to next year.
  • Talk with adults about their colleges, why they went, and what it's like.
  • Look for leadership positions, awards or recognition in your extracurricular groups or activities.
  • Begin researching scholarships by talking to your counselor and visiting local scholarship search sites.
  • If possible, consider attending tours of mainland and local colleges.
  • Consider enrolling for College Advising to get expert help through the whole college and financial aid process.
