Casual / Part-Time / Non-Exempt

 

STARTING WAGE

$25 to $30 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

 

JOB SUMMARY

College Connections Hawai‘i (CCH), in an effort to fulfill its social mission, offers accessible high quality test preparation classes throughout the state of Hawai‘i. Over time, CCH will raise statewide average SAT, PSAT, SSAT, ACT, and COMPASS scores in order to increase educational opportunities for students. CCH is actively recruiting outstanding educators to teach strategies and content to college-bound students while building confidence and self-esteem. Key to every CCH service is the professional educator –- a motivated, inspirational, effective, creative, and engaging adult.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote College Connections Hawai‘i’s mission in interactions with students, school administrators, and others
  • Inspire, motivate, and encourage all students
  • Arrive early at classes and foster a productive learning atmosphere
  • Learn and follow CCH's strategies based and content based curricula
  • Address students' immediate educational concerns, while adhering to CCH curriculum
  • Communicate with CCH via email, phone, and mail as required
  • Maintain written records of studetns' progress and test prepartion class performance
  • Attend all trainings and relevant College Connections Hawai`i functions
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Professional teaching experience in a classroom environment
  • Email and Internet skills

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree or Teaching Certificate
  • Experience teaching secondary math or language arts
  • Experience preparing students for standardized tests
